Town Plan Update

May 6, 2021

Updated: your views about Dereham are still wanted

The consultants who have been appointed to create a Town Delivery Plan for Dereham are Hatch and We Made That. They have now agreed their timetable for consulting with Dereham residents and stakeholders. The Breckland Council website has been updated and for a full description of what is planned, please see their web page here.

The online ‘Meet The Team‘ event took place on 10th May and was well attended. It was followed by a helpful online Q&A session. If you were unable to attend this, you can view the presentation here.

There will be more online events to follow. These include:

Virtual workshops have taken place on these dates.

The last workshop, the intervention workshop on 17th June, saw more than 40 people from Dereham discussing with the consultants a list of initial ideas for the town. We were asked to rank the ideas in order of importance, but in practice there was not enough time to do this justice. Various groups and individuals, including aboutDereham and Dereham Heritage Trust have sent written responses to the consultants about the project ideas. The presentation from this workshop can be seen here. You can also send your views to: tdps@breckland.gov.uk

For people who do not have online access, paper forms are available from Breckland Council. Anyone is free to get in touch with the project at tdps@breckland.gov.uk

There is also an online survey – and everyone should go and fill it in so as to ensure all our views are heard by the project team. Find the survey by clicking here. (opens in new tab).
