Dereham has many assets and many things going for it as a place to live and a place to visit, yet these are not fully appreciated and more could be done to promote the town and its virtues to potential visitors. Although Dereham has a very strong shopping offer, free car parking and a twice weekly market, the town does not promote these assets across Norfolk. If we can attract more town visitors, the existing shops and restaurants will flourish and local jobs will be saved. The aboutDereham Partnership consists of voluntary and community groups based in and around Dereham. Our adopted mission is:
“To promote and contribute to Dereham as an economically successful and culturally vibrant centre: a good place to live and a great place to visit.”
An important part of our mission is to promote our community organisations to residents. In our partnership meetings we have found again and again that we all have many things in common: we all need more volunteers and we all struggle to tell residents about what we can offer to their families. Many community groups feel they are invisible. The aboutDereham Partnership aims to help by telling the town about the many community organisations and what they do.
We hold partnership meetings every two months. All community groups and organisations are invited to attend and find out more about what we do and to have a say. Contact us for details.
