Dereham Heritage Trust

From academic beginnings in 1953, the Dereham Heritage Trust (formerly Antiquarian Society) is a friendly group of people who have a shared interest in the history of Dereham and the surrounding area.

Guest speakers are invited each month to give talks at Trinity Methodist Church hall in Theatre Street, Dereham. These meetings are normally held on the second Wednesday each month at 7.30 p.m. Visitors are always welcome with a fee of £3 payable on the door.

The Trust manages Bishop Bonner’s Cottage Museum. Members act as volunteer stewards in the Museum and manage the archive collection. It was founded in 1953 by Canon Noel Boston and Dr. Eric Puddy and is a registered charity (No.293648).

The Trust also incorporates the Cowper Society of Dereham and The Arcadian Club, which studies the life and works of the local antiquarian Dr Augustus Jessopp.
