#keepDerehamclean
March 14, 2024Support the Great British Spring Clean – in Dereham!
Keep Britain Tidy is hoping that more people than ever will support this year’s Great British Spring Clean – the country’s biggest environmental campaign to mark its 70th year. They say:
“In 2023, around 350,000 volunteers in every corner of the country collected more than 400,000 bags of litter from our streets, parks and beaches.”
The Dereham Community Litter Pickers have been meeting up twice a month for over three years to remove the litter and rubbish that we have just cast on the ground rather than put it in a bin or take it home.
In that period, they have picked up and recycled or safely disposed of several thousand kilos of rubbish. We should all say a big Thank You to the litter pickers for helping to keep our streets and open spaces clean.
Join us for the Great British Spring Clean
This year, Dereham Community Litter Pickers are asking you to join them on 23 March at 10am in the Queen Mother’s Garden. You will receive all the equipment you need and training, so as to be able to help this initiative to #keepDerehamclean. The litter pick will end at 12 noon. You can also contact Dereham Community Litter Pickers at derehamlitterpickers@gmail.com or find them on Facebook.
