Dereham Day 2023

May 5, 2023

Double celebration for Dereham

Hard on the heels of our local elections comes, as I am sure everyone knows, the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The ceremony will be streamed live from Westminster to big screens on the Fleece Meadow, behind the Memorial Hall. Bring a picnic or buy refreshments from the stalls and enjoy the entertainment planned for the whole weekend. For info see: Dereham_Coronation

Just one week later we have the hugely popular Dereham Day when we celebrate everything that is great about Dereham. This year there will be even more stalls and stands than last year, more refreshments available and entertainment ongoing through the day and evening. All the children’s favourites will be there again this year plus lots of new activities.

During the day performances in the Memorial Hall will include:

In the evening, a double bill featuring comedian John Osborne with his one man festival favourite piece, ‘Circled in the Radio Times’. See: John-Osborne

John’s delightful and heart-warming comedy is followed by the acclaimed ‘Pot Of Gold Shanty Crew. See: Pot-Of-Gold

If you are not a fan of Eurovision, you might enjoy live entertainment instead. Tables for the evening performance can be booked here: Live-entertainment

Finally, if you would like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to the volunteers who help your local group run smoothly, we have designed a certificate recognising their contribution. National Volunteers Week is 1st-7 June, but you can present the certificate at Dereham Day or whenever you want through the year.
