Dereham Town Council Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Award

In light of the Queen’s 70 years of service on the throne, Dereham Town Council would like to reward local volunteers, those unsung heroes, who have made a positive contribution to Dereham.

The Town Council invite the community to nominate those who have gone out of their way, above and beyond, to put so much into the town.   Whether it is someone who has devoted their time to volunteering, someone who has helped the local community, someone who has cared for others, or someone who has made a significant difference to Dereham including raising the profile of Dereham, in an unpaid capacity, and someone who has not received a Citizen Award in the past.

Dereham Town Councillor Stuart Green states: “This year’s Platinum Jubilee Citizen Awards give us a chance to recognise the hard work and commitment that many people do in Dereham which often goes unrecognised. The Queen herself sets a great example of dedication to the country and supports a huge number of charities/causes. There are a great deal of people doing similarly amazing work in the town and positively affecting people’s lives/wellbeing.  The 2012 awards showed a great variety of volunteers and activities undertaken around town. We look forward to receiving nominations to show appreciation for these dedicated people.

If you would like to nominate someone for this prestigious award, you can contact Dereham Town Council on 01362 693821 or email generalenquiries@derehamtowncouncil.org or you can also download the form at the link below.  You will be asked to provide details of the deserving individuals, along with a short citation detailing how they have served the community and how long they have served.
