Mid Norfolk Food Bank

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. Our foodbank in Dereham was founded in 2012 by local churches and community groups, and is run predominantly by volunteers. Across the Mid Norfolk network 1,849 three-day emergency food parcels were given to people in crisis last year (2021).

If you are in a food crisis, we have set up a process for issuing Foodbank vouchers remotely – to obtain one, please contact Citizens’ Advice on 0800 1448848 or Breckland District Council on 01362 656870.

Alternatively, please call Help through Hardship free to talk confidentially to a trained Citizens Advice adviser on 0808 208 2138 (Open Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm) They can help address your crisis and provide support to maximise your income, help you navigate the benefits system, and identify any additional grants you could be entitled to. If needed, they’ll issue you with a voucher so you can get an emergency food parcel from your local food bank.

Our Dereham distribution centre is located at Wellspring Family Church, 35 Neatherd Road, Dereham NR19 2AE and is open on Monday from 1.30pm-3.30pm and Friday from 1pm-3pm.
