Bank Holiday walk
Hosted by Dereham Walkers are Welcome
27 May at 10:00 to 27 May 13:00
Event Location

This walk will start from outside Church House (bottom of Church Street) and is planned to be up to 6 miles long, taking in Potter’s Fen and Rushmeadow and will include a specific 10 minutes (or so) break, so please feel free to bring refreshments if you wish. (In the event that Rushmeadow is still very wet, the walk may be shortened to avoid it.) It is planned that this walk will cross the A47 on the level. This crossing will be at a recognised point where the paths on each side have infrastructure to allow passage; in addition, a system of crossing will be adopted whereby small groups will cross in turn when there are fully adequate gaps in the traffic, which is expected to be less than usual at that time of day on a Bank Holiday. We are confident that this can be done with complete safety, but understand that some may not wish to join us on this particular occasion. The walk will be led at a reasonable pace - we do not rush, but we do need to make progress for the group as a whole; if you have any questions about our speed, please raise them with us. You should come with decent footwear (especially when it’s been wet) and suitable clothing. There’s no need to book, just turn up. For more details, contact Ken Hawkins, or 07561 813243.
